Age requirements of the above categories:
Instrumentalist: | 18 through 29 (not 30 by June 1 of audition year) |
Vocalist Male/Female: | 25 through 36 (not 37 by June 1 of audition year) |
Eligibility: | Entrants should be completely ready for a professional concert career, but not under professional management. |

The Ellis Competition for Duo Pianists, open to citizens of the United States, was made possible by a legacy left by Annie Lou Ellis (Mrs. Edgar B. Ellis) of Birmingham, Alabama, friend and benefactor of the National Federation of Music Clubs. Additional gifts were provided by Fay and John Abild of Iowa, Floride Smith Dean of South Carolina, and Gretchen Van Roy of Florida, longtime supporters of NFMC.
AWARD: $20,000 1st Place

Age limits: 18 through 38 (Entrants must have reached their 18th, but not their 39th by March 31, 2023
Applicants must be U. S. Citizens
Previous 1st place winners are not eligible to enter.
Entrants may not be under professional management.

Performance clearly showing all repertoire performed from memory
Statement that the team is not under professional management as a team
